I know from reading other peoples blogs, I’m not the only one to have been sent a little Christmas Cheer from the lovely peeps at Zuneta. I was sent the Hourglass lipgloss in Siren as an early Christmas pressie.
As you can see, its a beautiful metallic red – it reminds me of a red Christmas tree bauble… I have read a lot of posts written by bloggers who recieved the Hourglass eyeshadow duo instead, expressing relief not to have been sent this as its a bit of a scary colour to them. I disagree – its such a pretty colour, and its also apparently an LE created for the season. I really like the formula of these glosses, and they smell divine too – like warm vanilla. As this one is such a strong colour it definitely needs a lipliner with it, so pretty – I’m thrilled! I’m thinking of wearing this “pin-up” style at some point with a flick of glittery Rouge Bunny Rouge liquid liner and lashings of black mascara…
Zuneta’s website has been one of the finds of the year for me – it stocks Rouge Bunny Rouge and HourGlass, exclusively in the UK, as well as lots of other hard to find brands, like Malin and Goetz, Erborian, Hei Poa, and Found. Their customer service is second to none – during the recent postal strikes they switched from Royal Mail to courier after listening to customer feedback, and also replaced several parcels at their own cost. As well as this, the site allows customers to enter information regarding their own skintone and recommends colours based on this – genius!
They are also more than generous with samples and free gifts – In various orders I have recieved Korres shower gels, a curved nail file from Butter London, and tonnes of samplers from the likes of jurlique etc. This brings me onto this next little gem – Yu-Be skin cream.
I expected this to be yet another version of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream (which I don’t really love). Yesterday, in a desperate attempt to seek some relief from the horrible effects the virus is wreaking on my skin and lips, I dug out the sample of this I was sent.
This little beauty is fab – its more creamy in texture than eight hour cream (which to me is just fancy schmanzy vaseline), this actually absorbs in and softens the skin – I have tried it on my lips, the skin on my nose, and on my cuticles, and it has worked wonders – I’ll definitely be ordering a full size on when my dinky little sample tube runs out… It contains glycerin, which naturally clings onto moisture, vitamins E and B2, and Camphor to soothe. Definite recommendation…
It is also available in a lip formula. The skin cream costs £11.74, while the lip formula comes in at £2.93.

I would be most greatful if the following found its merry way into my Stocking on the 25th…
This boxed set is priced at £100 from Zuneta, and contains the following items;
Purchasing these products individually would set you back £115, so really, this would save you money (there’s that devil on my shoulder again…)
Don’t fancy that set? Or, if like me, you already have most of it…. Then have a gander at this instead….
To pick these goodies up individually would cost £63. Both sets come with free delivery
There is a LOT of stuff on the Zuneta site I would love to find stuffed in my stocking, (basically most of the Rouge Bunny Rouge range, Some Hourglass, Korres and a load f the skincare ranges…) but these sets are a really lovely way to try a few of the picks from the site if you haven’t tried them before…
Sadly, the chances of Santa bringing me much in the way of makeup this year are slim – me and the mister are moving in the new year. Therefore we are getting vouchers for housey things… Oh well. Its not like I’m short of makeup really, is it?

Cult US brand Hourglass launched on Thursday on fab beauty site Zuneta (which also happens to be the only place in the UK where you can get your mits on the super Rouge Bunny Rouge range). This range was originally launched in 2004 by founder Carisa Jones and was only sold in Barneys New York for 2 years, before enjoying its Sephora launch in 2006 – which happened to be the most successful launch at Sephora that year…
I love the look of the packaging in this range – the compacts feature swivelling mirrored lids (check out the videos on the brand on the Zuneta site/YouTube channel…). The range also has a slight gothic twist to its packaging, which doesn’t step too far into the realms of darkness… No surprise that Angelina Jolie is a fan of the line then? Well if its good enough for her…!
I really love the sound of the Solar Tan Primer, which combines their mineral primer with the power of a gradual facial tanner – the fact that this is already sold out on the site, despite its £44 price tag seems auspicious. Its said to give natural results similar to the colour you would naturally tan… a paley such as myself would probably only need this a couple of times a week (*convincing self that this is therefore an essential purchase*) Excuse photo’s – directly lifted from Zuneta website!
The “Extreme Sheen” Lipglosses from the range also sound fab – said to be water resistant, drink and foodproof. I love the look of shades Truth, Verse and Ignite
Of course I am an absolute SUCKER for foundation, so I must mention the Veil Fluid Makeup – said to feel silky smooth on the skin. This also contains a substance called Matrixyl – a collagen stimulator, which therefore has anti-ageing properties. It is free of mineral oil and fragrance, and contains SPF 15, and is also meant to be water/humidity/sweat resistant – the video on the Zuneta site also boasts that the product does not need to be set with powder. This appeals to me, as I love the way liquid foundation looks when freshly applied, and not having to set with powder sounds lovely!
I also love the look of their Adorn Lipstick in the shade Lucid – described as “a soft rose with a stunning metallic shimmer”, and Icon “the ultimate blood red” (Surely dissertations could be written on the perfect Red lipstick!?).
The shadow duo’s also look lovely – “Prism” and “Dune” both appeal to me, although these are said not to be as buttery as the RBR shadows (which would be difficult to be fair!)
Have you tried any of the range? I’d love to know if any American readers have used the products and what you think too?

I recently blogged about a couple of Korres products (I’m still using that Tinted Moisturiser on a daily basis!), and the Rouge Bunny Rouge makeup range (here and here). Both are available from the Zuneta Website – in fact this is the only place you can get the RBR range online – there are lots of ranges on there I haven’t seen elsewhere or even heard of actually. Its definitely worth a visit if you like to find something a little bit different…

I actually discovered the wesite via the FAB blogs of BritishBeautyBlogger and LondonMakeupGirl
and its one of my faves now, I love going on to look at the lovely things lol… and deciding what to get next from Korres.
Anyway, Get to the point woman! When I blogged about the Korres products – a tinted moisturiser and a Zea Mays blush, I made the point of mentioning the issues with the colour descriptions and swatches that Korres have for the brand, which have that “pantone” thing going on (ie they look a bit like paint swatches from B&Q and similar places…). For example, my “peach” blush was more of a pink shade etc… In short, although Korres is a great range, it may suffer from bad swatches.
Shortly after publishing the review, I was emailed by the owner of the Zuneta website, who was in agreement that this was an issue, which she wanted to try put right, and she has been working with Korres on improving their swatches etc. In addition to this, Zuneta have also launched their own YouTube channel which give a really good overview of a lot of the korres products, such as which foundation is suitable for which skintype, an overview of available colours etc – so if you are thinking of making a purchase, I’d definitely recommend checking that out.
I also wanted to mention that the Zuneta website makes recommendations to you in terms of colours/products when you log in, as it helps you to create your own “Profile” in the Clinic section of the site – different profile types are represented by beautiful pictures of several different models of different skin shade and ethnic background, like the ones in this post…
Zuneta are now launching a search for new models to represent them on the website -
the Zuneta Model Search 2010 is being held in conjunction with Elle Magazine, Rouge Bunny Rouge and the FM Modelling Agency – you can watch a video about the contest here.
Now I know lots of you bloggers are definite Model Material (you lucky ladies), and I’m sure a few of you will have had a hankering for having a go at something like this, so I hope you all check it out and maybe enter! From the video, I gather that the winners will be voted for by the public, so I’m really hoping one of our lovely bloggers will enter and we can all vote! Let us all know if you make an entry, so we can get behind you!
