My return to blogging after somewhat of an extended break, has to start with a bit of an apology… I admit I’ve been a bit of a rubbish blogger of late, but life sometimes gets in the way, and it’s easy to get out of the “blogging habit”. Balance is obviously the key, so I’m going to try to blog more regularly, but not to put pressure on myself to do it every day – as I always tell everyone else, blogging is a hobby, not a job!

First post, I need to announce a few giveaway winners…

The lovely peeps at Garnier have kindly provided me with 6 jars of their newly reformulated anti-wrinkle day cream for a giveaway. The cream contains pro-retinol, and makes some impressive claims;

Nails Inc have been doing a lot of little promo’s lately, which is fab, as they are a popular brand and offer some lovely colours.

One of the most recent ones was in conjunction with “Fabulous” magazine. The PR responsible contacted me to tell me that they had sent me some samples of the colours, but sadly they went to my old address. She very kindly sent me a new set to my new gaff, however they arrived after the promo had finished.

Now I don’t know about you, but I though it might be a bit mean to show you these lovely summery shades once you can’t get your mits on them anymore, in a “come and have a look at what you could have won” style, so I thought I’d do a little giveaway, so someone could have the chance to enjoy these who missed out on the promotion…

The set contains two shades – Atomic, which is a lovely hot orange shade, and OMP! which was apparently created especially for the Fabulous magazine.

After what feels like months of anticipation (but was actually only a fortnight or so…) my Glossybox finally arrived this morning, and fell into my grubby little paws when I got home.

Now I’m sure you are aware of the GlossyBox, after all, it seems to have taken over my twitter timeline several times over the last couple of weeks. But for the uninitiated GlossyBox is a £10 a month subscription service which sends you a box of five “deluxe” sized samples… the kind you’d usually get as a gift with purchase, rather than the crappy little sachets the counter ladies sometimes begrudgingly give you if you offer to sacrifice your firstborn and remortgage your house ask very very nicely.

First thing that stands out about the GlossyBox is how lovely the packaging is – Its like recieving a lovely gift… With love from me to me!

So, packaging aside… whats in the box then? I’m sure you have already seen this on twitter and many other blogs but here ya go!

So thats a full size (30ml) tube of NARS Orgasm Illuminator, worth £21.50, an All For Eve full sized lipstick in “Eve Red”, worth £12.50, a 4ml sample of Bionova bioactive cleanser (admittedly small, but more than made up for by the two full sized products I feel), a 25 ml pump bottle of Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Colour Hold Hair Repair Spray, and a 50ml bottle of Como Shambhala Invigorating Body lotion. Not bad for £10… Lets hope future boxes live up to the same standard, as GlossyBox have set the bar high for themselves!

I love being able to try new things as a result of blogging, and I also love being able to give readers a chance to try new things too.
I’m currently looking for a reader with acne (please note, I’m not talking about a few breakouts occasionaly – I am talking about acne, so please don’t apply to review this unless that applies to you) to test out a new treatment called “Help Clear Skin” from a company called “Works With Water”

Basically, the product comes in the form of powder sachets which you disolve into water and drink. It contains a substance called Preventin, a protein rich in Lactoferrin, which inhibits bacteria responsible for acne, and reduces blemishes. Interested? Read all about the product HERE.

The active ingredient in this is derived from milk, so if this does have the effects claimed by the manufacturer, it sounds a lot better than some of the other acne treatments out there such as long term antibiotics etc. At around £50 for a months supply though, you’d want decent results, so I need a reliable reviewer!
