Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service, and you can find out all about it on their website HERE.
August’s box has a “Highflyers” theme, and contains brands from around the world, with brands such as Jelly Pong Pong, Tresemme and Philosophy.
The first item that caught my eye was this makeup removal pen from Ócean.
I’ve seen pens like this for nail polish before, but this is the first one I’ve seen for makeup. Ócean is a brazilian brand – this is a full size item, and is not yet available in the UK, so will be quite interesting to try.
It’s also nice when the boxes include beauty tools – I curl my lashes every time I apply makeup, so it’s good to see a pair of lash curlers in the box too.
I’ve given these a try since taking the photo’s and they seem like a well made pair of curlers – I’m impressed. These seem to work well with my eye shape – sometimes the shu uemura ones are a little bit flat for my eyes, and don’t get the corners well. These are made by the brand Emite, which is a Swedish brand – they retail at around £20.
There are also a couple of samples from the USA.
I know lots of people love the Juicy Couture fragrances, but I’ve never actually tried any – This is a Juicy Noir sample, and is a little bit too fruity for my liking if I’m honest. The Tresemme treatment will be worth a try, but I doubt that it’s something I’ve ever purchased, as I have a nagging feeling it isn’t cruelty free.
Finally, its good to see the UK represented too, by Jelly Pong Pong.
This is a charcoal shade, and can be used both as a liner, and also blended out as a shadow. This is probably not the best for the waterline, as the formula is not the creamist, but it seems like it would work well on the lid and the lashline.
At first glance, this is probably neither the best or the worst glossybox, but for me, the lash curlers make this box worth the money alone.
Cruelty Free? Jelly Pong Pong is a cruelty free brand. I was unable to find any reliable information on tresemme – the main issue seems to be that their parent company are not CF, and I was unable to find information on the other brands shown.
