Up until now my idea of nail art has been having an accent nail.
Now though, I have a new obsession. Dotting tools… Bourjois have recently released one, which you can pick up on amazon, and there are loads of other kits available on there too. Who would have thought such a simple little tool would make nails so much fun?
I recreated a tutorial I found on You Tube – check the original video HERE, using the dotting tool, together with Illamasqua’s “Load” and Bourjois new blue finger dazzler “In the Navy”, which is a french navy shade, and comes in their 1 second gel polish range.
This is the first time I’ve tried the 1 second polishes, and I have to say I love the formula of this one – it dries really fast, and one coat gets you opaque coverage. The brush is one of those wide jobs too, so only one or two strokes is needed to cover the nail. They dry to a shiny finish, and so far I’ve been wearing my mani for 2 days with not a chip in sight. I am super impressed with this formula, and will definitely be picking up some other shades.
I was extremely pleased with myself for the way my mani turned out, even if I do say so myself…
… I think I can safely say that dotting patterns are my new obsession – I’ve spent hours watching tutorials and planning my next manicure.
Its nice to have a hobby I suppose.
Now, I need to know if you have any favourite ways with dotting tools so I can try them all please… And also what are your colour picks from the Bourjois 1 second range?
